A little bit more about me

Fact 1

I was born in New Jersey and lived in Florida most of my life but the mountains have always called to me.

Fact 2

I was in accounting for almost 9 years before I got burnt out then quit and spent 5 weeks in the Colorado wilderness hiking 500 miles across the state.

Fact 3

I have competed in both powerlifting and bodybuilding and although I have no plans to compete again, fitness will always be a big passion of mine.

Fact 4

I absolutely love anime (my preferred media consumption), video games, cosplaying, reading, eating yummy foods & snacks, and photography (how I've been able to sustain myself after quitting my job in 2022).

Lillian Marie Rua <3

I'd like to pay tribute to my lovely little sister who we tragically lost in January 2023. Lilly was incredibly bold and fierce but soft and kind to all that knew her. She filled everyone's lives with insurmountable joy with her bright light and big heart. She had a profound love for K-Pop/Korean culture and animals - any pet lucky enough to find themselves cared for by Lilly was sure to have the best life imaginable.

There will never be any words to describe how devastating it was losing my baby sister.

Growing up I used to think it wasn't fair that I had to bring my little sister with me everywhere I went and to be honest, she was kind of a brat to me. She’d find ways to sneakily get me in trouble when I did nothing wrong. Now, it makes my heart full hearing my old friends say that Lilly was also like a little sister to them - tormenting but so loveable.

I looked up to her for so much, not just because she was taller than me and never let me forget it - she grew up to be so bold and spoke her truth, she had so much love to give and she gave it so freely, she cared for others before she cared for herself.

I’ll miss our talks about anime and dumb boys, I’ll miss her giving me the most perfect gifts for any and every occasion, I’ll miss her baking me treats because she knew they made me feel better, and most of all  I’ll miss her calling me weird and saying she loves me anyways.

Her fiery soul has left a big void in my heart, and no doubt, in the hearts of so many but we've all made such beautiful memories with her that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

It was such an honor and I am truly so lucky to have been able to be her big sister.

I dedicate this journey to her - a promise to live a life I'll be excited to tell her all about when I see her next and to take her with me all over the world because she deserves to see it all.
